As part of the implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE) based curriculum at the graduate level in the Department of History of Dhaka University, a meeting was held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12:30 pm in the departmental meeting room.
The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Asha Islam Nayeem, Convener of the OBE Curriculum Committee, and esteemed members of the committee and special invitees. Professor Dr. Nurul Huda Abul Mansur, Professor Dr. Ashfaq Hossain, Professor M. A. Kawser, Professor Dr. S. M. Rezaul Karim, Professor Dr. Sharmin Akhtar, Professor Dr. Milton Kumar Dev, Mithun Kumar Saha (Member Secretary), Md. Habibullah and Md. Husaibur Rahman.
The meeting recommended the structure and course titles of the new curriculum of the MA program in the Department of History. Three clusters have been organized in this new curriculum and related courses have been proposed for each cluster. It is worth mentioning here that since the establishment of the Department of History, no thesis or research-based courses were introduced. For the first time, research options have been added to the new curriculum. The committee members expressed their hope that it will open a new horizon for the students. This syllabus will be implemented from the upcoming academic year, subject to the approval of the university.
