The Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka, proudly celebrated World Meteorological Day 2025 with a seminar themed “Closing the Early Warning Gap Together.” Held on March 17, the event brought together students, faculty members, and esteemed guests to highlight the critical role of meteorology in strengthening early warning systems and enhancing disaster preparedness.
The seminar featured insightful presentations by students, covering topics from fundamental meteorological principles to cutting-edge advancements in AI-driven weather forecasting. Faculty members from various disciplines, along with distinguished guests from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, enriched the discussions by sharing their expertise on climate resilience and technological innovations in meteorology.
The session was chaired by Dr. Fatima Akter, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka. The event concluded successfully with a commitment of collective efforts to enhance early warning systems and strengthen climate resilience.
