ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের আন্তর্জাতিক কনফারেন্স অনুষ্ঠান

গত ২৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি, ২০২৫ ইং তারিখে নবাব নওয়াব আলী চৌধুরী সিনেট ভবন অডিটোরিয়ামে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের উদ্যেগে আয়োজিত হয়েছে ঢাকা ইউনিভার্সিটি লিঙ্গুইস্টিকস কনফারেন্স (ডিইউএলসি) ২০২৫।  “ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ, ফাংশন, অ্যান্ড ইন্টারডিসিপ্লিনারি ডিজিটাল হিউম্যানিটিস” বিষয়ে আলোচনা করতে হাইব্রিড ফরম্যাটের এই দ্বিতীয় আন্তর্জাতিক কনফারেন্সে বিশ্বজোড়া খ্যাতি সম্পন্ন পণ্ডিত, গবেষক ও পেশাজীবীরা অংশ নিয়েছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অথিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. নিয়াজ আহমদ খান। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় প্রো ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর (প্রশাসন) অধ্যাপক ড. সায়মা হক বিদিশা এবং কলা অনুষদের সম্মানিত ডিন অধাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ ছিদ্দিকুর রহমান খান। অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য ও সমাপনী ধন্যবাদ প্রদান করেন অনুষ্ঠানের আহবায়ক ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. সৈয়দ শাহরিয়ার রহমান। কনফারেন্সের সভাপতিত্ব করেন ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান ড. মনিরা বেগম। কনফারেন্সে প্রধান বক্তা ছিলেন অধ্যাপক ড. টেড গিবসন (এমআইটি) ও অধ্যাপক ড. মাত্তি মিয়েস্তামো (হেলসিংকি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) এবং প্লেনারি বক্তা ছিলেন অধ্যাপক ড. সামি হংকাসালো, অধ্যাপক ড. এরিকা সেন্ডম্যান, এবং অধ্যাপক ড. মারিয়া বঘিউ। এছাড়া তিন মহাদেশের ছয়টি দেশের গবেষকবৃন্দ একত্রিত হয়েছিলেন ব্যাকরণ, ডিজিটাল হিউম্যানিটিস এবং লিঙ্গুইস্টিক ইনোভেশন বিষয়ে আলোচনা করতে। প্রোগ্রামে ১২টি গবেষণাপত্র, ১৩টি পোস্টার উপস্থাপিত হয় এবং আন্তঃশাস্ত্রীয় আলাপে দুই জন আমন্ত্রিত অতিথি বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন। ভাষাবিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তিকে একত্র করে ডিইউএলসি ২০২৫ কোলাবরেশন, উদ্ভাবন এবং অ্যাকাডেমিক উৎকর্ষের একটি প্লাটফর্ম হিসেবে কাজ করেছে। এই কনফারেন্স সফল করার জন্য উপস্থিত সকলকে ভাষাবিজ্ঞান বিভাগ আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করছে।

The Dhaka University Linguistics Conference (DULC) 2025, organized by the Department of Linguistics, successfully took place on February 26, 2025, at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium. This second international hybrid conference brought together scholars, researchers, and professionals from around the world to discuss “Language, Function, and Interdisciplinary Digital Humanities.” The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan, PhD, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. Sayema Haque Bidisha, PhD, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration), and Prof. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, PhD, Dean, Faculty of Arts, as Special Guests. Prof. Syed Shahrier Rahman, PhD, Convenor of DULC 2025, delivered the welcome address and closed out the conference and Dr. Monira Begam, Chairperson of the Department of Linguistics, presided over the event. The conference featured two keynote speakers, Prof. Ted Gibson, PhD (MIT) and Prof. Matti Miestamo, PhD (University of Helsinki), along with three plenary speakers: Sami Honkasalo, PhD (University of Helsinki), Erika Sandman, PhD (University of Helsinki), and Maria Boghiu, PhD (University of Bucharest), from leading global institutions. Scholars from six countries across three continents contributed to discussions on grammar, digital humanities, and linguistic innovation. The program included 12 research papers, 13 posters, and two invited talks, showcasing interdisciplinary perspectives. Bridging linguistics and technology, DULC 2025 served as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence. The Department of Linguistics extends heartfelt gratitude to all participants, making the event a resounding success.
