Applications are invited, in prescribed proforma, from the teachers of the Faculty of Science for new research projects to be carried out with financial support from Dhaka University Nanotechnology Centre. Projects may be submitted jointly and may include the provision for the appointment of a research fellow. The total budget for each project will be limited to a maximum of 50,000 taka. This may cover charges for analytical services, expenditures for chemicals and apparatus, or incidental expenses. The procurement should follow PPA/PPR guidelines and applicable VAT/IT must be paid by the Project Supervisor within the allocated budget. The Research Fellowship is full time and the grant for a Research Fellowship will be allocated for 01 March 2024 to 30 June 2024. The project proposal must cover any of the fields of Nanotechnology and its applications. Interdisciplinary projects are also welcomed. In the case of joint project supervisors, one of them may be from the Faculty of Science or the Faculty of Biological Science or the Faculty of Pharmacy or the Faculty of Earth and Environment Science or the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and another supervisor may be from BCSIR, BAEC, and NIB.
The following conditions should be fulfilled:
(1) DUNC should be used as an affiliation when an article on the research project will be published in any journal (preferably indexed Journal).
(2) The project work should be presented in a research fair organized by DUNC.
(3) The work should be presented at any conference of a related society or on Nanotechnology.
(4) Research Fellow should have a BS degree or higher from D.U. or MS degree with a minimum CGPA 3.00.
(5) The fellowship amount is Taka 12,000/- per month.
The project proposal should be submitted by 28/01/2024 in hard copies to the office of the DUNC in Room no 411 (CARS) building. A soft copy should also be sent to the director (susan@du.ac.bd) by the deadline. Awards are expected to be made according to the availability of funds. The Project may be renewed based on the availability of funds in the following financial year.
