Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan leaves Dhaka today July 22, 2025 for Japan on a 6-day official visit at the invitation of Ehime University authorities.
During this visit DU VC Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan will take part in different high level meetings and hold bilateral talks with the authorities of Ehime University for further strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between DU and Ehime University. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities will be signed in this regard.
Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan will exchange views, share knowledge and hold discussions with the authorities of Ehime University for the smooth implementation of joint collaborative research project on ‘Implementing Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technologies to Control Health Risks for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area’ funded by JICA and JST. It may be mentioned that Dhaka University will be the implementing institution of this project. DU VC is expected to visit some other labs and important institutions there.
Besides, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor will deliver a lecture on ‘Rohingya Refugee Crisis: Regional Security Risks, Repatriation Pathways and Livelihood Challenges’ in a workshop organized by the Peace Building Department of Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), Japan.
He is expected to return home on July 28, 2025. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha in addition to her duties will discharge routine works of the Vice-Chancellor.
