A four-day long DUNMUN conference titled ‘Sustainability Beyond Conflict: Forging Equitable Peace Through Unified Actions’ has begun yesterday, May 30, 2024 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU). DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal inaugurated the conference as chief guest. Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA) has organized the event.

Secretary General of DUNMUN SM Nahian Islam presided over the inaugural session while Moderator of DUMUNA Prof. Dr. Md.  Delwar Hossain, Registrar of BRAC University Dr. David Dowland and ex- President of DUMUNA MJ Sohel addressed it as special guests. 

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal urged the youth community to utilize their knowledge and capacities properly for sustainable development and raise their voice for upholding peace in the world. He said, youths can play an effective role in building Bangladesh through innovative ideas and knowledge. He emphasized on analyzing of scientific data to develop strategies, formulate policies and take right decisions. He stressed the need for finding ways to promote sustainable practices.

About 500 students from home and abroad are participating at the conference.
