A new trust fund titled ‘Prof. Shaheen Ahamed & Kazi Anower Ahamed Trust Fund’ has been established at the University of Dhaka (DU). Retired teacher of DU Anthropology Department Prof. Shaheen Ahamed & her spouse Kazi Anower Ahamed handed over a cheque for Tk. 20 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed today May 30, 2024 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office Lounge to set up this trust fund. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal was present as chief guest on this occasion.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Science Prof. Rasheda Irshad Nasir, Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker, Director of DU PR Office Mahmood Alam and donor’s family members were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one financially challenged and meritorious student of the Department of Anthropology and another from the Department of Economics of DU will be given scholarship.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked the donors for their donation and hoped that philanthropists and Alumni would come forward with their helping hands for our meritorious and financially challenged students.
