Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal returns from United Kingdom (UK) today, May 21, 2024 after 8-day official visit at the invitation of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), University College London (UCL), Cardiff University and Birmingham City University (BCU).
Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal attended ACU Vice-Chancellor Summit-2024 and actively participated at different important programs on strategic higher education policy, research management, academic collaboration, scholarship programs, employability and skills, digital access, artificial intelligence, SDGs and other issues. He also held fruitful talks with Vice-Chancellors, higher education ministers and international higher education stakeholders at the Summit.
DU VC also attended workshops and research collaboration meetings at the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction of UCL as a Visiting Professor. He held bilateral discussions to enhance ongoing partnership and academic exchange collaborations between DU and UCL.
During this UK tour Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal visited to Net Zero Innovation Institute of Cardiff University and exchanged views with the authorities of Cardiff University to work together on new academic and research areas of mutual interest and benefit. He also visited to Birmingham City University (BCU) and met with his counterpart Prof. Dr. David Mba. He discussed matters of mutual academic and research collaborations with him. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between DU and BCU in this regard.
During his hectic schedule DU VC also got an opportunity to exchange views with the concerned authorities of Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of South Wales, Swansea University, Aston University and other institutions to undertake joint academic collaborations among DU and those institutions.
It may be mentioned here that DU VC Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal left for UK on May13, 2024.
