Ambassador of Spain in Bangladesh Mr. Gabriel Sistiaga paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today March 5, 2024 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by Visiting Professor of Spanish Language Program of the Institute of Modern Languages of DU Ms Maria Amparo Porta Rivas.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro- Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar and Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed were present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs as well as cultural exchange programs among the University of Dhaka and different universities in Spain. They also discussed regarding development and expansion of ongoing Spanish Language programs at DU Institute of Modern Languages. Organizing of Cultural Fair at DU under the joint auspices of the University of Dhaka and the Spanish Embassy in Bangladesh was also discussed in the meeting.

The Vice-Chancellor stressed the need for undertaking more collaborative programs at different academic fields including science and technology, student exchange and student mobility programs among Dhaka University and various leading Spanish universities.

DU VC Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked the Spanish Ambassador for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in strengthening cooperation and collaboration with this university.
