Ten meritorious and financially challenged students of different departments under the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded ‘Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation Scholarship’. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function today December 13, 2023 at Prof. Abdullah Farouk auditorium of Business Studies Faculty.

Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen presided over the function while Prof. Dr. Razia Begum of DU Marketing Department, President of Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation Mr. Chowdhury Mohammad HanifShoaib and Vice President Md. AtaurRahmanProdhan addressed it.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal urged the rich people of the society, university alumni and philanthropists to come forward with their helping hands for financially challenged students. He stressed the need for bringing all financially challenged students of DU under the scholarship coverage.

The recipients of scholarships are- Md. Nur-E-AlamSiddiqueSaimon and Mahiul Islam (Management), Md. MahbubHasan (Accounting and Information Systems), AbuBakarSiddique and Md. ShibluHasan (Marketing), Md. Raja Mia (Finance), Muhammad Abu Raihan (Banking and Insurance), Md. Hasan (Management Information Systems), Rahul Biswas (Tourism and Hospitality Management) andEliusTalukdar (International Business).

Earlier, a MoU between the Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University and Dabir-Sohani- Suraiya Foundation     was signed today at the same function to provide support to financially challenged students.
