Chinese Ambassadorin Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wencalled onDhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today November14, 2023at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by some other officials of Chinese Embassy in Dhaka. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad was, among others, presenton this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed about establishment of a research-based center titled ‘The Center for China Studies’ at Dhaka University to conduct multi-disciplinary researches.They also exchanged views regarding various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programsamongthe University of Dhaka and different universities inChina. The possibilities of organizing seminar, workshop, conference and cultural eventsjointly by Dhaka University and Chinese universities were also discussed in the meeting. They stressed the need for more exchange of students, teachers and researchers among DU and Chinese Universities.
The Vice-Chancellor said, an excellent friendlyrelationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and Chinafor a long time. These friendly ties between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped. The VC sought moresupport and cooperation from Chinese ambassador for academic, research and technological development at DU.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamalthanked the Chinese envoy for hisvisit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
