A ten-member students team from India, Bhutan and Armenia led by Pradip Chopra, Chairman of the Institute of Leadership Entrepreneurship & Development (ILEAD), West Bengal, India called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today October 18, 2015 at the latter’s office of the university. The team members were Almas Khan, Saksi Ahmed, Md. Sohail Anwar, Abhimanyu Jalan, Umar Reyaz, Siddharth Gupta, Soumyo Das and Suresh Chandra (India), Madhukar Darnal (Bhutan) and Andranik Matevosyan (Armenia).
During the meeting they discussed various issues including strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and the Institute of Leadership Entrepreneurship & Development (ILEAD), India. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arefin Siddique apprised the team members of brief history of Dhaka University as well as various democratic movements in Bangladesh including our Liberation War and Language Movements. Dhaka University played a pioneering role in all those movements and linked itself directly with our national identity, he mentioned. The VC also recalled with gratitude of all-out supports and cooperation of Indian government, people and media during our Liberation War in 1971.
