A two-member delegation led by Prof. Dr. Michael Adams, Dean of the School of Law of Western Sydney University, Australia called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today October 19, 2015 at the latter’s office of the university.  Other member of the delegation was Prof. Dr. Masudul Hoque. Professor Dr. A.S.M Amanullah of DU Sociology Department and Professor Dr. Delwar Hossain of International Relations Department were also present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed regarding establishment of an ‘International Centre for Ocean Governance’ at Dhaka University. They also discussed the possibilities of strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and Western Sydney University, Australia. The DU VC sought cooperation from the delegation to increase scholarships for the students of Bangladesh at the Australian universities. They also stressed the need for exchange of more teachers, students, researchers and staff between the two countries to understand each other as well as the societies.
