The Department of World Religions and Culture, University of Dhaka, and Centre for Inter-religious and Intercultural Dialogue (CIID), University of Dhaka unequivocally condemn the ongoing genocide and unyielding attacks by Israel in Gaza, which have already claimed the lives of more than fifty thousands of Palestinians. The recent escalation of violence starkly exemplifies a clear intent to annihilate the Palestinian people and erase their presence from the Gaza Strip, leaving behind no inhabitant land. As faculty members, students, and staffs, we stand in unwavering solidarity with the global movement calling for justice and independence for the Palestinians. We urgently demand an immediate and lasting ceasefire. As citizens of Bangladesh, we strongly call for the recognition of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
