Seminar on Career Opportunities and Challenges in the Middle Income Countries
A seminar was arranged by the EMBA Program and MPHRM Program of the Department of
Management, University of Dhaka

A seminar titled "Career Opportunities and Challenges in the Middle Income Countries" was held under
the chairmanship of Professor Md. Ali Akkas, Director of MPHRM Program, and Professor Dr.
Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Director and Coordinator of the EMBA Program of the Department of
Management, University of Dhaka. In the seminar, Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Associate Professor of the
Business School, Lincoln University, United Kingdom was the keynote speaker. Senior Professor Md. Ali
Akkas and Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam discussed the topic. Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman
emphasized on acquiring special skills to develop students as efficient human resources to face
challenges of the 21st century. Emphasis was given on learning artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud
and big data to utilize the potential of the fourth industrial revolution. Professor Dr. Md. Mosharraf
Hossain thanked Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman and assured that such knowledge-based seminar activities will
continue in the department.
