| Air Pollution Mitigation Using Passive Techniques | Protecting the health of growing urban populations from air pollution remains a challenge for planners and requires a detailed understanding of air flow and pollutant transport. Vegetative barriers, such as roadside trees and foliage, can clean air by trapping pollutants on leaves and branches or forcing air up and away from people. The goal of my research program is to investigate the role of urban vegetation in air phytoremediation. |
