Peace and conflict research | My research interests on peace and conflict studies include democratic peace theory, the effects of political leadership and political ideology on the implementation of intrastate peace agreements, grassroots peacebuilding, and human rights of indigenous peoples. |
Machine learning and text mining in conflict research | Text mining, the emerging field of data science and an artificial intellegence (AI) technology, is used to analysze unstructured textual data (text-as-data). I am skilled in R quanteda pacakage to conduct sentiment analysis, topic modelling, and predictive modelling. |
Automated text analysis (computational method) in conflict research | In traditional quantiative content analysis, a researcher conducts hand-coded content analysis, while the automated text analysis, also called as computer-assisted content analysis, is applied to classify and quantify a large amount of textual data (also called Big Data) for statistical analysis. |
Quantitative research method | I have keen interests on cross-sectional and panel data models. In my PhD research, I use pooled OLS, and linear mixed effects model, whereas I have worked on cross-sectional survey data in my previous research and forthcoming articles. |
