Dr. Saiful Hoque is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of media and communication, specializing in social media, digital convergence, and consumer behavior. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Dhaka, Dr. Hoque began his academic career as a Lecturer in 2009. Prior to joining academia, he gained valuable industry experience as a broadcast journalist.

Dr. Hoque earned his PhD in Mass Communication and Journalism from Korea University, South Korea, in 2019, following his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Dhaka in 2004 and 2005, respectively. He also achieved 14th position in the combined merit list for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam under the Chittagong Board.

A seasoned researcher and educator with over 17 years of experience in academia and industry, Dr. Hoque teaches research methodology at Dhaka University and other prominent universities both at home and abroad. His scholarly work, published in leading journals such as Sustainability, Heliyon, and the Journal of Information Science Theory and Practice, covers topics like User-generaed Content, mobile advertising, and online news consumption patterns.

Dr. Hoque's extensive travel to countries including England, Scotland, Singapore, China, Qatar, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, and more for academic purposes underscores his international engagement in research and professional development. His research on the integration of user-generated content in broadcast journalism and the societal implications of technology has significantly contributed to advancing knowledge in the field. Dr. Hoque’s academic and practical contributions reflect his dedication to addressing the evolving challenges of the digital age.
