GPCR Pharmacology | My research on GPCR pharmacology includes defining the role of G protein-coupled receptor 84 (GPR84) signalling in pathophysiology of several metablic/inflammatory disorders including osteoarthritis, diabetes mellitus, NAFLD and hepatic fibrosis using a range of animal disease models. We are also investigating the in-vivo characterization of novel small molecule drug candidates targeting this receptor. |
|
Pharmacogenomics | Currently I am evaluating the effect of genetic variations in genes encoding GPCRs, VEGF, VEGFRs, cytokines and chemokines on disease risk/susceptibility in Bangladeshi demographics. Major objectives of these genetic studies is to find out novel and effective genetic/vascular/immunological blood-based biomarker(s) for the hard to diagnose diseases. |
