UGC PhD Fellowship 2020-2021

Applications are hereby invited in the prescribed form from the teachers of public/private universities, government/MPO colleges and meritorious students for "UGC PhD Fellowship 2020-2021" under the following terms and conditions; -

1. (a)    Candidate must be a full time researcher in public universities. No part time researchers will be considered for the fellowship;

(b)    Total number of fellowships SO (fifty), Teachers of public universities (20), Private universities (07), Government colleges (15), MPO colleges (05) and meritorious students (03),who are already admitted into full time PhD program in any of the public universities will only be considered for this Fellowship, if finally selected by the UGC for the fellowship;

(c)    A PhD Fellow shall receive an allowance of Tk.30,000/-(Thirty thousand) per month (maximum 36 months from the date of joining);

(d)   A Synopsis highlighting the objectives, methodology, expected results and impact of this research on Bangladesh must be submitted;

(e)    After preliminary selection, the candidates may be asked to present virtually (in zoom platform) or physically his/her research proposal before a Committee.

2.  Prescribed application form, terms and conditions for the fellowship can be downloaded From the UGC website (http://www.ugc.gov.bd)/-এ সেবা বক্স এর বৃত্তি এবং ফেলোশিপ লিংক থেকে সংগ্রহ করা যাবে।

3.  A pay order/bank draft of Taka 1,000/- (One thousand) only to be issued in favor of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, from any branch of Janata Bank, should be enclosed with the application form.

4.  Applications must be submitted through proper channel.

5.  Incomplete application shall be considered as rejected.

6.  Complete set of application along with necessary documents, shall be submitted to the "Director, Research Support and Publication Division, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Agargaon, Dhaka-1207” not later than 15th October 2020. The soft copy of Application form along with Bio-data (in doc/docx format only) must be sent to fellowship_phd.rsp@ugc.gov.bd.
