A two-day long international conference on “Urdu Literature in 21st Century” has begun today January 27, 2020 at RC Mazumder Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. DU Urdu Department has organized this conference.
Convener of Conference Organizing Committee Dr. Rashid Ahmad presided over the inaugural session while Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Abu Md. Delwar Hossain, Director of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, India Dr. Shekh Aquil Ahmad and Chief Patron of Bazme Sadaf International, Qatar Md. Sabih Bukhari addressed it as special guests. Co- Convener of Conference Organizing Committee Prof. Dr. Md. Mahmudul Islam delivered welcome address.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for intellectual interaction among the philologists of various languages to upgrade our education and research. He hoped that this conference would create common platform for researchers and play an important role to enhance the quality of research.
It may be mentioned that academicians, researchers, poet and writers from different countries including Bangladesh, India, Canada, Germany, England, Norway, Finland, Iran, Qatar, Egypt and Mauritius are participating in the conference.
