A two-day long high-level special meeting of Presidents (Vice-Chancellors) of world leading universities with UN Secretary-General H.E. Antonio Guterres will be held virtually at UN Headquarters, New York, USA on 9-10 July 2020. On behalf of UN Secretary-General the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has organized this event. 

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman has been invited from Bangladesh to participate at this prestigious meeting. He is expected to join this virtual meeting on 9-10 July 2020 (6:00pm-11:00pm, Bangladesh time). 

The objective of this meeting is to share information about Agenda 2030 and to explore how universities can best contribute to the Decade of Delivery of the related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting will deepen the alliance between the UN and universities. Various interactive discussions on “Universities and the Covid Crisis”, “Universities and Universal Values”, “Universities and Climate Change” and “An SDSN Action Plan for the Post-Covid Recovery” will be held during this two-day long meeting.
