Newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mr. Vikram K Doraiswami called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today October 27, 2020 at the latter’s office of the university. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal was present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest. They exchanged views regarding enhancement of academic and research collaborations at DU. They emphasized on exploration of new avenues of mutual cooperation. In this regard fruitful discussions were also held about establishment of a Museum at DU, renovation and beautification of old halls and academic buildings, creation of ‘Chair’ and exchange of students and faculty members.
On the occasion of DU centenary, the possibilities of signing MoUs between DU and Indian leading universities were also discussed during the meeting.
Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, friendly relations have been prevailing between Bangladesh and India for a long time. These bilateral friendly relations will be further strengthened by undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs among DU and Indian universities, he hoped.
DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked Indian High Commissioner Mr. Vikram K Doraiswami for his visit to and keen interest to provide further cooperation to Dhaka University.
