Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the young generation to contribute to the socio-economic development in the country through participation in voluntary activities. He was addressing the inaugural session of a seminar at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium today December 5, 2022 marking the International Volunteer Day. VSO Bangladesh organized this event.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said freedom fighters of Bangladesh under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had made outstanding examples of voluntary services in national and international arena during our great Liberation War in 1971. He urged the youth community to work for the betterment of human being following the ideals of Bangabandhu and freedom fighters.
Director of Programs of British Council Mr. David Knox, Education Advisor of Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office Mohammad Golam Kibria, Program Development Specialist of USAID Shaheen Bin Siraz and Executive Director of Sesame Bangladesh Mohammad Shah Alam addressed the inaugural session. Country Representative of Malala Fund Musharraf Tansen presented the key-note speech while Acting Country Director of VSO Bangladesh Khabirul Haque Kamal delivered welcome address.
