Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman as chief guest paid glowing tributes to Russian poet and writer Alexander Pushkin today June 04, 2022 by placing floral wreath to his portrait at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university marking his 223rd birth anniversary. Counsellor of Russian Embassy and Director of the Russian House in Dhaka Mr. Maxim Dobrokhotov was present on this occasion as special guest.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, Alexander Pushkin was a great poet and writer in Russia. In his short span of life of only 37 years he had an unique contribution to develop and enrich Russian Language and Literature. All Russian poets and writers are always being inspired by Alexander Pushkin’s literary works, DU VC pointed out.
It may be mentioned that Alexander Pushkin was born on June 06 in 1799 and died on February 10 in 1837.
