World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Bangladesh Dr. Bardan Jung Rana called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today April 06, 2022 at the latter’s office of the university. Director of the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology of DU Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mizanur Rahman was present on this occasion.

          During the meeting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman recalled the outstanding contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to establish fundamental health service rights of the people in newly independent Bangladesh in 1972. He praised WHO DG Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for his great contribution to face the global challenges of Covid-19 pandemic. He expressed his willingness to invite WHO DG at a special prestigious occasion of DU and sought cooperation from WHO Representative Bangladesh in this regard. Daughter of Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has achieved tremendous success to combat Covid-19 Pandemic situation in Bangladesh following the guidelines of WHO, DU VC pointed out.
