A five-day long 78th Training Programme of Network of Instrument Technical personnel and User scientists of Bangladesh (NITUB) on Gas Chromatography (GC) has begun on March 27, 2022 at the Department of Chemistry of Dhaka University (DU). The inaugural session of the training was presided over by NITUB President Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmad while Chairman of DU Chemistry Department Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam inaugurated the programme as chief guest. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shoeb of DU Chemistry Dept. conducted the inaugural session as the Convener of the Organizing Committee. Former Chairperson of DU Chemistry Dept. and Treasurer of NITUB Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar and Joint Secretary of NITUB Prof. Dr. Begum Rokeya also addressed the inaugural session of the training programme.
A total of eleven researchers from different universities and research organizations have been attending the training programme which will be concluded on March 31, 2022 at DU Chemistry Department. Seven theoretical lectures and five practical sessions have been scheduled for them. Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar, Prof. Dr. Md. Iqbal Rouf Mamun, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shoeb, Dr. Abida Sultana and Mr. Md. Mazharul Islam of DU Chemistry Dept. have been working as resource persons.
