A half-day seminar on ‘Food, Health and Environment for Sustainable Development’ was held yesterday February 9, 2022 physically following health and safety guidelines. It was organized by International Science Programme (ISP), Sweden supported Research Group BAN:04 at Chemistry Department of Dhaka University (DU). Many faculty members, students and researchers from Dhaka University and other universities participated at the seminar.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal delivered inaugural speech as Cheif Guest while Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg Von Linde and DU Science Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad were present as special guests.
The seminar was presided over by former Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Tofail Ahmad Chowdhury. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shoeb, Group Leader, BAN:04 Research Group conducted the seminar. Former Chairperson of DU Chemistry Department Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar, Prof. Dr. Begum Rokeya of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences, former Chairman of Geology Department Prof. Dr. Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed and Prof. Dr. Md. Iqbal Rouf Mamun of DU Chemistry Department delivered lectures in the seminar.
