A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Dhaka (DU) and Schlumberger SEACO Inc. Ltd. was signed today January 05, 2022 at VC’s lounge of the university. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the MoU signing ceremony. 

  Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Country Manager of Schlumberger SEACO Inc. Ltd. Shahid Hossain Chowdhury signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution. Chairman of the Department of Geology Prof. Dr. M. Aziz Hasan, Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker and some others faculty members were present on this occasion. 

According to the MoU, Schlumberger authorities will provide software package and technological support for development of G&G Simulation Lab of DU Geology Department. Besides, Geologists of Schlumberger will provide training for DU teachers, students and researchers. 

It may be mentioned that Schlumberger SEACO Inc. Ltd. is the world’s leading company based in USA. 

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Schlumberger authorities for signing the MoU. The students of DU Geology Department will be highly benefited and produced as skilled human resources by this initiative, he hoped. This MoU will play an effective role to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, he added.
