Director of American Center, US Embassy, Dhaka Mr. Sean J. Mclntosh called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor today October 07, 2021 at the latter’s office of the university. Cultural Affairs Officer of the Center Ms. Sharlina Hussain-Morgan and some other officials of the Center were present on this occasion.

        During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest. They also discussed various issues relating to further enhancement of academic collaboration and cooperation between the University of Dhaka and American Center.

DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman informed the Director of American Center that Dhaka University has many MoUs with various leading universities in USA and under these MoUs joint collaborative academic and research activities have been going on. He laid emphasis on exchange programs for DU young faculty members and researchers at USA universities with the help and cooperation of American Center.

Director Mr. Sean J. Mclntosh informed DU VC that American Center is very much interested in strengthening its partnership and collaboration programs with Dhaka University. He said, American Center will hold a virtual conference on October 27, 2021 marking the 75th anniversary of the prestigious US government sponsored Fulbright Program. He invited DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman to join this event and share his experiences gathered as a Fulbright Scholar of USA.

Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Director of American Center for his visit to and keen interest in enhancing academic collaboration with DU.
