A three-member delegation led by Alexander P. Demin, Director of Russian Centre of Science & Culture in Dhaka and  First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today, December 17, 2015 at the latter’s office of the university. Other members of the delegation were Prof. Dr. Andrey Sozykin and Dr. Dmitry Bazanov of Ural Federal University, Russia.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of DU Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Prof. Dr. Sabbir Ahmed were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on computer science and engineering subjects by the University of Dhaka and Ural Federal University, Russia. They also discussed the possibilities of introducing joint PhD and Masters programs at the two universities. The delegation members expressed their keen interest to provide short training programs on science and technology to young faculty members of DU in Russia. They have agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.
