A three-day ‘International Model United Nations Conference’ organized by the Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA) began today December 21, 2015 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium of the university. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated it as the chief guest.
Nahim Razzak MP, Dr. Delwar Hossain, Prof. of DU International Relations Department and Kazi Ali Reza, former Officer-in-Charge of United Nations Information Centre in Bangladesh also addressed the inaugural function.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique called upon all to play effective role to make the world free from terrorism, fundamentalism and dogmatism. He said, we have to work together for making the world more-fair by strengthening the culture of peace everywhere. Terming the United Nations has played a crucial role in building international consensus on action for global development the VC said, we have to utilize collective wisdom to ensure dignity and decency for all mankind.
It may be mentioned that a total of 500 students from different countries of the world including Bangladesh, USA, UK, South Korea, India, Nepal and Afghanistan are participating in the conference.
