A day-long workshop on “Teachers for Tigers” organized by the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of the Department of Zoology of Dhaka University (DU) was held today December 31, 2015 at Udayan Uchcha Madhyamik Bidyalaya. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.
Principal of Udayan Uchcha Madhyamik Bidyalaya Dr. Umme Salema Begum Presided over the inaugural function while Sub-project Manager of HEQEP Prof. Dr. Gulshan Ara Latifa delivered welcome speech. Chairman of the Department of Zoology of DU Prof. Dr. Anwarul Islam moderated the program.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the teachers to play an effective role for creating awareness on wildlife conservation among the students. He said we have to preserve tigers for conservation of biodiversity as well as the Sundarbans.
It may be mentioned that a total of 100 teachers from school and college sections of Udayan Uchcha Madhyamik Bidyalaya participated in the workshop.
