Former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Poland Professor Dr. Grzegorz W. Kolodko called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today January 31, 2016 at the latter’s office of the university.

         
DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and Professor of the Department of Economics Dr. Abul Barkat were present, among others, on this occasion.    

          During the meeting they discussed various issues including socio-economic development in Bangladesh. The possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs by the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in Poland were also discussed in the meeting.

          It may be mentioned that Prof. Dr. Grzegorz W. Kolodko is now on a visit to Bangladesh to deliver a public lecture on “Whither the World: The Political Economy of Future” organized by the Bangladesh Economic Association. This lecture session will be held on February 2, 2016 at 3pm at Nabab Nowab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University.
