Three meritorious students of the Department of Economics of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Prof. Nazma Begum Trust Fund Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof.   Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held today April 5, 2016 at the VC’s lounge.

Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Chairperson of the Department of Economics and donor of the trust Prof. Dr. Nazma Begum addressed it as special guest. Acting Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman was present on this occasion.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the brilliant students to work together for socio-economic development of the country.

The recipients of scholarships are- A B M Kawser Zaman (SM Wazed Scholarship), Kazi Salsabil Oishi (Momena Begum Scholarship) and Rifat Alam Nidhi (Abul Hasnat Mahmud Scholarship). It may be mentioned that Prof. Dr. Nazma Begum, Chairperson of the Department of Economics of DU had donated money to introduce these scholarships in memory of her parents and father-in-law.
