Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddiqe stressed the need for equipping students with the humanitarian values to eradicate terrorism and extremism from the society. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of permanent office of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC-DU) as chief guest today July 18, 2016 at CARASS Building of the university.
Director of IQAC-DU Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shamimul Alam presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin addressed it as special guests. Member of UGC Prof. Dr. Md. Yousuf Ali Mollah, Deans of various faculties of DU and Additional Directors of IQAC were present, among others, on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddiqe said, various public and private universities are producing graduates including doctor, engineer, accountant, teacher and broadcaster. But some of the graduates do not equip themselves with humanitarian values. Therefore, they are involving with various social misdeeds including extremism, terrorism and killings. The VC hoped that this newly established Institutional Quality Assurance Cell would work for development of human quality along with the assurance of quality education.
