A six-member delegation led by Mr. Jishnu Prasanna Mukherjee, First Secretary of Indian High Commission in Dhaka called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today September 4, 2016 at the latter’s office of the university. Other members of the delegation were Mr. J P Singh, Attache of Indian High Commission, Dr. Kishore Chatterjee, Professor of IIT Bombay, Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Professor of IIT Kanpur, Dr. Biplab Mondal, Professor of IIT Guwahati and Dr. Nalin Bharti, Professor of IIT Patna.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology of DU Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Prof. Dr. S M Mostafa Al Mamun, Chairperson of the Department of Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Prof. Dipti Saha, Chairperson of the Department of Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering Lafifa Jamal and Prof. Dr. Sayed M Shamsuddin were present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and different universities in India. Besides, they discussed the possibilities of under-taking joint collaborative academic programs by the Department of Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering of DU and IIT Kanpur. They stressed the need for strengthening cultural exchange programs between the two neighboring countries.
