A day long training of trainers on OpenStreetMap was held yesterday at Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury virtual classroom, Dhaka university which was organized by DU Innovation and Incubation Lab (DU i-Lab) and Texas Tech University,USA in partnership with YouthMappers and USAID.
This training aims for teaching the students of Dhaka university the process of contributing on OpenSteetMap, gathering structural and geographical data from surrounding and putting these collected data on OpenStreetMap, which is a free, editable map of the whole world that is being built by volunteers largely from scratch and released with an open-content license.
This training was facilitated by Ahosanul Hoque, GIS & RS Data Management Specialist and was moderated by Rashedur Rahman, Director, DU Innovation and Incubation Lab (DU i-Lab).
Around 35 students from different faculty and departments participated in this training. The participants were selected on the basis of academic disciplines, faculty representation, interest, and gender balance.
