A three-member delegation led by Mikio Hataeda, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof.  Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today October 4, 2016 at the latter’s office of the university. Other members of the delegation were Hicoshi Ara and Yuji Wakasugi.      

          Chairman of the Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology Prof. Dr. Sharif Akteruzzaman, Prof. of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Dr. Subrata Kumar Aditya, Chairman of the Department of Mathematics Prof. Dr. Amulya Chandra Mandal and some other faculties were present on this occasion.        

          During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of establishment of “Bangladesh-Japan Interdisciplinary Institute” at Dhaka University with the financial assistance from JICA. They also discussed the possibilities of introducing joint Masters and PhD programs between Dhaka University and Kyushu University, Japan.
