The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece Paraskevopoulos called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today October 24, 2016 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by Ambassador of Greece to India Panos Kalogeropoulos and Deputy Chief of Mission Aliki Koutsomitopoulou.

            Ambassador of Bangladesh in Greece Md. Jasim Uddin and some other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh were present on this occasion.

            During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of strengthening bi-lateral relationship between Bangladesh and Greece.  The possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs by the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in Greece were also discussed in the meeting. They stressed the need for introducing cultural exchange programs between the two counties. They also exchanged views regarding education systems in Bangladesh as well as Greece.

            Later, DU VC Prof. AAMS Arefin Siddique took the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece and other members of the delegation to the Central Shaheed Minar and some historical places of DU.
