Dr. Rob Hope, Professor of the School of Geography and Environment of the University of Oxford, UK called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today January 11, 2017 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by Alex Fischer, a PhD student of the University of Oxford. 

      Director of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies of DU Prof. Dr. Mahbuba Nasreen, Chairman of the Department of Development Studies Prof. Dr. M. Abu Eusuf and some other PhD students of the University of Oxford from Bangladesh were present on this occasion.

          During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs being conducted   by the University of Dhaka and the University of Oxford, UK. The UK Professor expressed his willingness to provide more support to DU faculties for conducting research on environmental science. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arefin Siddique thanked the guest for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
