A total of 64 students from different departments of the University of Dhaka have been awarded “The Duke of Edinburgh International Award” for their success in various extra-curricular activities. 21 students have received Silver Award and 43 other have received Bronze Award.
Students Counseling & Guidance Office of DU organized the event at Seminar room of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on 20th November 2017. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the function while Ms Sue Walker, Asia Pacific Regional Director, The Duke of Edinburgh International Award Foundation addressed it as chief guest. Director of Students Counseling & Guidance Office of DU Prof. Mahjabeen Haque, National Director of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Foundation Prof. Dr. Khondaker Mohammod Shariful Huda and Chairman of the Executive Committee Rizwan-Bin-Farouk were also present at the function.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the awardees. He also inspired the extra-curricular activities of the students as well as academic learning to make themselves as worthy citizen.
