Five meritorious students of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Sharothi Scholarship” for securing the highest CGPA in 1st year BS Honors examinations of different departments. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held on December 13, 2017 at Prof. Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Class Room.
Provost of the Jagannath Hall Prof. Dr. Asim Sarkar presided over the function while Founder President of Sharothi Prof. Dr. Pial Kumer Das addressed it as special guest.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to equip themselves with moral values to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
The recipients of scholarships are- Pranto Das (Statistics), Sonjoy Chaki (Pharmacy), Tonmoy Kumer (Geography & Environment), Amit Roy (Computer Science & Engineering) and Pial Saha (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology).
