A two-day long Career Fest organized by Dhaka University (DU) Career Club has begun today July 16, 2018 at TSC premises of the university. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the fest as chief guest.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of DU Prof. Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Professor of the Department of Marketing Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, Assistant Prof. of the Department of Organization Strategy & Leadership Md. Rashedur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Syed Almas Kabir, Coordinator of Youth Program of Prothom Alo Munir Hasan and President of DU Career Club Muhayminul Islam addressed the inaugural program.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to prepare themselves as skilled human resources for making Bangladesh a developed country. The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has already been set up at Dhaka University to produce skilled human resources, he added. He stressed the need for introducing internship programs at different industries to develop professional skills of the graduates. He emphasized on creating relationship among academia and industries for expansion of job market in the country.
It may be mentioned that 32 private companies and 16 public and private universities are participating in the Career Fest.
