A three-day long National Conference on Physics has begun today February 7, 2019 at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU). Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. Bangladesh Physical Society (BPS) has organized this conference with a theme of “Physics in Bangladesh: Legacy of SN Bose”.
President of BPS Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan presided over the program while Fellow of BPS Prof. Dr. RIM Aminur Rashid addressed it as special guest. Vice President of BPS Prof. Dr. Jiban Podder delivered welcome addressed and General Secretary of BPS Prof. Dr. Ishtiaque M. Syed gave vote of thanks.
Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the academicians and professionals to conduct scientific research in Bangla to make science education more attractive to the new generation. Late Prof. S. N. Bose had always emphasized to conduct scientific research in Bangla, he added. The Vice-Chancellor stressed the need for undertaking joint collaborative research by the students and teachers to upgrade the quality of science education in the country.
It may be mentioned that renowned scientists from home and abroad are participating in the conference.
