A two-day long Second Assembly on “Future of Higher Education” has began today March 29, 2019 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). DU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad inaugurated the program as chief guest. The Centre for Genocide Studies of DU organized the event in cooperation with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Bangladesh.
Director of Centre for Genocide Studies of DU Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed presided over the inaugural function while Resident Representative of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Bangladesh Ms. Tina Marie Blohm and Founder of Bibi Production Bibi Russell addressed it. Conference Coordinator Ms. Farhana Razzak gave vote of thanks.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad stressed the need for ensuring the quality of higher education to make Bangladesh a developed country. He said, the new generation is addicted to facebook and social media instead of books. These types of addictions make bad impact in their mental functions, he added. He urged the new generation to come forward with their creative knowledge to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
It may be mentioned that experts from different countries are participating in the assembly.
