A three-day long DUNMUN conference titled "Reducing Global Inequalities by Bolstering Trade Development" has begun today, October 12, 2019 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA) has organized the event.
Secretary General of DUNMUN Chowdhury Mujaddid Ahmed presided over the inaugural session while UNIDO Representative of Bangladesh Dr. Zaki Uz Zaman, Moderator of DUMUNA Prof. Dr. Md. Delwar Hossain and ex- President of DUMUNA Muhammad Mamun Mia addressed it as special guests.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md Akhtaruzzaman urged the youth community to play an effective role to reduce inequality in every sphere of the society including education, research, trade and business. He also called upon them to achieve technological advancement to face the global challenges. He stressed the need for utilizing the power of youth properly to make Bangladesh a developed country.
About 500 students from home and abroad are participating in the conference.
