Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman condoled the death of Ekushey Padak winner and renowned artist Kalidas Karmakar.
In a condolence message today, 19 October 2019 Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman expressed his profound shock at death of noted and internationally-acclaimed artist Kalidas Karmakar. He said Kalidas Karmakar’s artworks are modern and thought-provoking. His painting symbolically represents the connotations of our glorious Liberation War, various social phenomena and the life sketches of people, DU VC said.
Prof. Akhtaruzzaman prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Kalidas Karmakar and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members of the deceased.
It may be mentioned here that Kalidas Karmakar (73) died yesterday, 18 October 2019 following a cardiac arrest in the city.
