Six meritorious students of the Department of Islamic History & Culture and the Department of Sociology of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded scholarship from three separate trust funds for their outstanding academic performances. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function held today November 13, 2019 at the VC’s lounge of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Acting Chairman of the Department of Islamic History & Culture Prof. Dr. AKM Golam Rabbani, Prof. Dr Zia Rahman of Criminology Department, Associate Prof. Mahmudur Rahman and Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were present on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the awardees. He urged the students to become worthy citizen. He said meritorious students have to play an effective role to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
The recipients of Prof. Dr. Habiba Khatun Trust Fund Scholarship are Mst. Shapla Khatun, Md. Rahadul Islam Tanveer and Md Showkat Ali (Islamic History & Culture).
The recipients of Prof. Dr. Md. Delwar Husain and Raihana Husain Trust Fund Scholarship are Jalal Uddin and Mst. Mousumi Khatun (Islamic History & Culture).
Besides, Raisul Islam Arman, a student of Sociology Department received Prof. Dr. Md. Delwar Husain Trust Fund Scholarship, Gopalganj.
