Twenty five meritorious students of different departments of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “IFIC Bank research grants” for conducting research on disaster management, oceanography, meteorology, nuclear engineering and robotics. Fifteen other students have received scholarship for their outstanding academic performances. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed research grants and scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function today November 28, 2019 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Earth & Environmental Sciences Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, Chairman of the Department of Banking and Insurance Prof. Dr. Md. Main Uddin and DU Senate Member Ramendu Majumdar addressed it. Managing Director and CEO of IFIC Bank Shah A Sarwar delivered welcome address. DU Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman conducted the program.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the recipients of research grants to conduct fruitful research for achieving sustainable development goal. He also called upon the students to equip themselves with moral and humanitarian values to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
